When a project involves federal assets (e.g., federally-owned properties), utilizes federal funding or when a federal permit is issued, compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is required. NEPA requires federal agencies to determine if proposed actions will have significant environmental effects and to consider the environmental, social and economic effects of their proposed actions as part of their decision-making process.
Quanta Environmental has supported NEPA actions as third-party consultants to various federal agencies and while working directly for project applicants. Familiarity with the procedural requirements and the differences between agency-specific guidance for the implementation of NEPA allows Quanta Environmental to complete documents that are defensible and compliant.
Although the lead agency is ultimately responsible for the scope and accuracy of the analyses, we have developed strong relationships with private applicants and federal agencies through competent technical services and adherence to procedural requirements throughout the agency decision-making process.
